Indianapolis Community Impacts: In Pursuit of Racial Equity

2024 Marked the start of a new year and the graduation of the 3rd Six Sigma Racial Equity Institute (SSREI) cohort. Hughley partnered with SSREI for a 3rd year to support the coaching and development of African American and Afro-Latina women in Indianapolis, Indiana. This year, Hughley was responsible for supporting 2 different cohorts of women. One cohort partnered with Voices Corporation. The other cohort partnered with the Indianapolis Public School Corporation (IPS).

Hughley’s work with Voices Corporation focused on supporting improvements to its Day Reporting Program, in which male youth referred to Voices by the court system attend Day Reporting instead of secured detention.

Hughley’s work with IPS focused on supporting better utilization and timely spending of Title 1 Funds. The overarching goal was to improve Title 1 spending by creating an integrated, transparent, and consistent process.

After the community projects were completed, both cohorts of women were certified as Six Sigma Green Belts. Congratulations to these women on a job well done!
